We have to be honest: covering the first time takes some time. This is mainly due to the preparation; preparing the parts prior to ensiling itself. But once you’ve ensiled, the covering does pretty quickly. You only need to put the cloths over the pit and tighten everything. Depending on your sildo size, this takes on average half an hour. The biggest time savings come into play when you’re ensiling in layers. Opening and closing Silage Safe is very easy and does save time. You will have covered your silage pit within half an hour. This also applies to silage; simply loosen the towing eye and place it back over the wall.
